  Garden and Brook

Mere Brook House is an imposing Edwardian country house situated in its own grounds extending to almost four acres which include a beautiful garden with sunken dell sheltered by mature trees with paddocks and a woodland area beyond running down to the Mere Brook.

The gardens offer a truly relaxing sanctuary with numerous species of butterfly, birds and wildlife to be observed and can be viewed from the garden lounge, conservatory and all the bedrooms.

A recent addition to the garden is a pond (actually five linked ponds) designed by Donald and built by Chris with its uniquely designed filtration system created with the help of Steve Brown.

The garden is surrounded by paddocks which provide grazing for young calves or horses. Along the bottom edge of the paddocks runs the Brook that forms the bottom boundary of Mere Brook House. The Brook runs into Raby Mere situated around the corner which is a popular attraction for young and old who come to feed the ducks and view other wildlife.
