Clatterbridge Hospital

Mere Brook House is less than a mile from Clatterbridge and is an ideal place to relax whether you are visiting a relative or are receiving treatment at the world famous Clatterbridge Hospital.

From The North

The easiest route is to go all motorway but auto route and your sat nav may take you via Liverpool as that is the shortest route but it is no quicker and you will need the patience for 40 sets of traffic lights (yes I have counted them) along with £1.50 for the tunnel.

Motorway route (Starting from the M6)

Follow the M6 South, go over Thelwall and just past junction 20 filter to the left and then get in the right hand lane to follow the M56 Chester (not Manchester), at junction 15 of the M56 take the second exit for the M53 to Birkenhead (not Chester), come off the M53 at junction 4 and at the roundabout at the top of the slip road take the first exit to Clatterbridge, you go past the hospital on your right and come to a roundabout with a garage in the middle of it, go straight across this roundabout and then at the next smaller roundabout TURN LEFT into Thornton Common Road, you will go past the rugby club on your left, continue on this road and Mere Brook House is the last but one house before the motorway bridge on the right hand side – it has a new wooden fence and there are two entrances close together both with stone pillars and wrought iron gates. The sign is low down near the grass between the entrances – come in the first entrance and you will see the house.

From Junction 4 of the M53

At the roundabout of junction 4 of the M53 take the road to Clatterbridge, you go past the hospital on your right and come to a roundabout with a garage in the middle of it, go straight across this roundabout and then at the next smaller roundabout TURN LEFT into Thornton Common Road, you will go past the rugby club on your left, continue down this raod  and Mere Brook House is the last but one house before the motorway bridge on the right hand side – it has a new wooden fence and there are two entrances close together both with stone pillars and wrought iron gates.
