Local Attractions

The Wirral, particularly on the West side is a place of real beauty known to relatively few, sandwiched between the estuaries of the Dee and Mersey. The coastline is spectacular and easily accessible due to the twelve mile Wirral Way used by walkers, bikers and horse riders. It is home to many unspoilt picturesque villages including Caldy, Burton, Shotwick, Willaston and many others. For those interested in history there are numerous places to visit including the Birkenhead Priory and St Mary's Tower, a Benedictine Monastery established around 1150 the oldest building on Merseyside and Lady Lever's Art Gallery at Port Sunlight or follow the Birkenhead Heritage trail.

Staying on the Wirral you are next door to a world-class city and a world-famous ferry. This is THE way to see Liverpool. Hop aboard one of the daily River Explorer Cruises for stunning views, fascinating history and unlimited sea air.
