'The New Cottage'

Latest News 2011: There is much activity at Mere Brook House as the former coach house is currently being extended and renovated which will provide three further ground floor bedrooms, one of which will be fully accessible and one first floor bedroom - currently all the rooms in the main house are on the first floor so this development will enable us to better serve elderly and infirm guests. We are keen that the facilities within the cottage will be of an equal standard to those in the house so the cottage will also have a lounge and a kitchen well stocked with homemade cakes for guests to use - you may have stayed in some annexes which have been miserable and cold - well we are on a mission that this will not be the case at Mere Brook !.

The photo shows the oak trusses being craned into the roof - most of the rooms will have exposed oak beams. We are also installing an air source heat pump system for the heating purchased from Stiebel Eltron one of our regular business guests.

This development is receiving valuable support from the Merseyside Rural Leader and Tourism Connect programmes.
